Lighting Irresistibly Demands Your Attention

Dave had spent his day in his vehicle, driving that long stretch through St. Louis on I64 on his way to Nashville. The trip was long, and he was tired. Then, something caught his eye.

He saw RGB lighting in the distance. It took him out of his driving trance and grabbed his attention. Noticing it was a gas station, he looked down at his fuel gauge. He could use a fill-up, so he pulled off the highway.

The gas station with the commercial Christmas lighting was far from the first one Dave had driven past, but none of the others caught his eye. They were just more buildings that blended in the landscape.

People think with their eyes. Dave noticed the light, motion, color, contrast, and size of the RGB lighting, and that was enough to cause him to pull over and fuel up.

Our Christmas light installers can dress up your business in a way that demands attention. With our help, you can inspire curiosity and excitement while increasing foot traffic.

In Dave’s case, he was drawn to a gas station, but the type of business does not matter. Our affordable, energy-efficient lighting can help you achieve a distinctive look and gain a competitive edge.

Imagine how much business you lose because your building doesn’t stand out. Change that with our Christmas lighting services. Call (612) 328-3376 to schedule an estimate.

The $70 Gallon of Milk

Do you want to increase your revenue by leaps and bounds? If so, you will love this story.

Mary was driving home from work when something grabbed her attention. Her eyes immediately looked over at the colorful lights along the side of the road. The lights were located around the perimeter of a grocery store, and Mary immediately remembered that she needed a gallon of milk. The inviting lights drew her in, so she turned on her signal and pulled into the grocery store lot.

She walked inside and headed to the milk aisle, picking up her $2.50 gallon. She started toward the checkout aisle and, along the way, noticed some other items that she needed. By the time she finally reached the cashier, her arms were bulging with items and she wished she’d grabbed a basket.

The cashier rang her up, and the total came to $70. Mary was happy to get her milk and other items, and the store owner was pleased to make the sale.

Mary had never been to that particular grocery store before, and she wouldn’t have made the first trip had it not been for the perimeter architectural lighting. The store made a new customer that day and also had a nice sale.

Imagine how many customers would stop at your location if you used our Christmas lighting services.

The Working Memory of a Goldfish

Do you think that goldfish have a hard time paying attention and remembering things? Humans are even worse. If something doesn’t grab their attention, they don’t take it in and soon forget about it. That’s why businesses that don’t have commercial Christmas lighting have such a difficult time attracting customers.

Take the story of John, for instance. John is relaxing in a hotel room when he receives a text letting him know that a package has arrived for him. It’s at the front desk, and John doesn’t want to get up. He writes a note to himself reminding to pick it up when he leaves the next morning.

The next morning comes and John prepares for his day. He packs up and walks to the front desk, his reminder note in hand. He will pay for his bill, grab his package, and head out.

Just as John approaches the front desk, he sees a co-worker. The two check out together, chatting the entire time. John and the co-worker exit together, and John places the hotel receipt in one pocket and the reminder to grab his package in the other.

You’ve likely done something similar dozens of times, if not more, and can’t help but wonder why.

Memory experts will tell you that there are three parts to our working memory, which are capacity, duration, and focus. Just like a goldfish, John lost his focus. Losing his focus caused him to forget his package.

How does this translate into the business world? If your customers lose their focus, they will forget to stop at your business. Fortunately, you have the power to bring that focus back so they remember they need to stop in and buy something.

Commercial Christmas lighting is an attention grabber. It can change into a variety of colors and movement patterns, making it impossible to ignore. The right RGB lighting will capture the attention of your customers for years and years.

Color-Changing Commercial Christmas Lighting Is the Future

Have you ever noticed how vibrant and colorful the world is? All those gorgeous colors grab our attention and entertain us. From the falling leaves in autumn to the bright yellow sun on a midsummer day, colors influence our lives. In fact, the colors we experience on a daily basis are so influential that artists mimic the gorgeous hues on their canvases.

Sometimes nature provides all the color people need, but that’s not always the case. When the sun goes down, those splashes of color disappear with it. Fortunately, we can use artificial color to liven up our lives once again. That’s why our Christmas lighting services are in such high demand.

To understand this, you need to look at the non-image-forming visual pathway. This is often referred to as the “third eye.” Your third eye responds both psychologically and psychologically to color, including the hues from RGB lighting. Researchers are still exploring the responses, especially since RGB lighting has increased in popularity over the years.

Marketing wizard Seth Godin once said that you should not wait for a case study in your industry to prove the effectiveness of a marketing tactic. That can be translated into seven simple words:

Don’t wait to join the lighting revolution.

Do You Know How Lighting Affects Your Customers?

Colors seem to have their own personalities, and those personalities affect us. Red is an emotional color and can trigger positive or negative emotions. It’s known to give people a boost of adrenaline and increase their pulse rates while creating a sense of urgency.

Orange is a warm color, while green is relaxing. Blue calms people down, while purple is regal and creates a sense of prestige. White is a clean color that is associated with innocence and purity.

Marketers understand the value of color and choose the right ones for each campaign they run. They know that a simple color change can create results. In fact, a study found that a change in color can lead to a 21 percent increase in conversions.

The Science of Color

If you drive through the commercial district in your city and see lots of commercial Christmas lighting, it’s because the business owners understand the science of color and how it impacts choices. Many of those business owners started their journey of understanding thanks to Stephen Westland. A professor and the leader of the Experience Design research group at the University of Leeds, Westland evaluates the effect of light and human behavior and psychology. His research has shown that our retinas send signals to the visual cortex to create the images that we see. Our retinas also send signals to the hypothalamus. The hypothalamus is responsible or the body’s self-regulation (temperature, sleep, hunger, and sleep rhythms), and that’s important for marketers.

It can be confusing to understand this, so let’s look at some examples.

Have you ever noticed that you wake at the same time every morning? The blue-green spectrum of light the sun emits when it rises is responsible for that. That’s why it’s so hard to sleep during the day and why so many people now have those alarm clocks that mimic the sun rising. This makes it easier for people to wake up in the morning.

When the sun goes down, the blue-green light starts to fade. Have you ever noticed you yawn after the sun goes down? That’s the effect of losing that light.

Natural light isn’t the only light that impacts us. Artificial light has an impact, as well.

Does this sound familiar? You are extremely tired when you go to bed, but you want to play on your smartphone a bit before turning it. You open up your phone, do a little surfing, and put it down. Suddenly, you can’t sleep. That’s because smartphones emit the same blue-green light as the sun. It makes your body wake up, even if it is time for bed.

This is just one example of how light affects us all. Light can affect alertness, impulsivity, mood, and so much more. Further research needs to be done to see the true impact of LED lights, but it is clear that lights and colors can impact experiences.

When you add a flash of color to your business, you can enjoy instant results. Those flashes of light will send information to the hypothalamus and cause people to take action.

The Science of Flashing Lights

Lights and colors become even more impactful when flashing. Think about the last time you were driving and saw the flashing lights of a police car. It likely took everything in your power to continue to look forward and keep driving. You wanted to know where the police car was going and what it was doing, even if it wasn’t pulling you over.

It’s not just police lights, either. When a light is flashing, your brain tells you that something important is happening, and you need to know what it is. The idea of not knowing is almost unbearable.

Marketers have realized this and started using flashing lights both online and offline. Flashing lights are used on websites to grab visitors’ attention, and these lights get the most views. The eyes are automatically attracted to the lights.

The same is true for brick-and-mortar businesses. If you have flashing lights on your business, people won’t be able to ignore it. They will have to know what you offer, and many will stop by. Their brains will tell them that your business is important, and they must know more.

When you combine color with flashing lights, you can influence potential customers. You can use colors to promote the right responses, and by using flashing RGB lights, you will create a sense of urgency. People will need to know what your business has to offer.

The science is clear. Our Christmas lighting services can transform your business. Do you want to:
